After many, many months of waiting and collective head-scratching by owners of LG's newest and highest-specced smartphones, the update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread is almost here. It's unclear what took LG so long, or why these models launched not running it, but let's just enjoy the moment for now. The Korean company took to Facebook to announce that the Gingerbread updates for the Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, and Optimus 3D will all become available in November. There are caveats, though. The updates will roll out in Europe first, and to devices sold unlocked and without carrier branding.
