E-Commerce Business Models. In all, there exist four types of business models concerning e-commerce and e-commerce software. The first of these is the aforementioned business to consumer, more commonly referred to as B2C. In this model, the business sells goods to the consumer and often uses the shopping cart transaction system with an online catalog so the customer can handle everything. This model can also include services like data backup or subscriptions.
Business to business, often shortened to B2B, is the second model.
