But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle. The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior.

Wiesmann pulls itself out of bankruptcy

There's been a raft of bankruptcies declared among niche European automakers recently. In the past year, the Cosworth, Gumpert, Artega, Lola and the London Taxi Company have all gone the way of the dodo. But the one we were most gutted by was Wiesmann. The German producer of retro sportscars and roadsters endeared itself to our hearts with its BMW-powered oddities since it started making them back in 1993. So we were disappointed when we heard that it had filed for bankruptcy protection this past August.

Nokia Patent Wants To Use Your Face And Your Mood As Emoticons

Emoticons do a great job of conveying how we feel when we send instant messages. A smiley face could indicate happiness, while a frown could indicate displeasure. But what if there is no emoticon for whatever you're feeling at the moment, and what if your current expression could do a better job of conveying your feelings. Well according to a new patent from Nokia, it has been suggested that perhaps your phone will be able to detect your mood and snap a photo of you at the moment and use that as an emoticon instead.

It is a blow-for-blow account when it comes to the next generation of video game consoles, namely the Xbox One and the Sony PS4. When Sony's PS4 was introduced, it sold over a million units in under 24 hours, and many people were certainly looking forward as to whether Microsoft's Xbox One is also able to do the same – and the good news is, the Xbox One held its own as well, selling over a million units, too, in less than 24 hours.

New Microsoft Surface 2 Ad Takes Aim At The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

It was just yesterday that Microsoft decided to treat us to a video in which the company's Surface 2 tablet was compared against the likes of the iPad Air. This was shortly after Microsoft's latest Scroogled campaign and also shortly after Nokia released a video of their Lumia 2520 that poked fun at the iPad Air as well. In any case it looks like Microsoft is back again and this time they're basically taking the same ad but are comparing it against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, a tablet released by Samsung several months ago.

Recently a few codenames for several unreleased Nokia smartphones were leaked, “Moneypenny” was one of them. Interesting choice codename there, straight out of James Bond. Apple Tweaks App Store Search Engine To Disregard Spelling Mistakes

Apple Tweaks App Store Search Engine To Disregard Spelling Mistakes

While there's nothing inherently wrong with the virtual QWERTY keyboard on iOS devices, making mistakes while typing is inevitable. Accidently place your finger on an alphabet you don't want to enter and the touchscreen registers it as a tap, which results in a typo. The App Store's search engine used to be very specific, making a spelling mistake when searching for an app's would result in that app not being displayed in the search results. TechCrunch claims to have learnt that Apple tweaked the search engine a few weeks ago and it now disregards misspelled queries. This obviously results into better search results.

The tablet stand is a totally new market, yet another that has sprung into being since the advent of the iPad and similar tablets in 2010. Two years ago, when you searched for iPad stand, or tablet stand, you got a few custom-built device holders, crafted in wood or acrylic, and most were more concerned with adding the tablet into a specific environment – music, point-of-sale, stand-alone store display, reading, typing, etc. Some of my favorite video podcasts spent months seeking out stands for their sets, and they always felt there was a compromise.

Google opens up Mirror API to all developers, even more Glassware incoming

Earlier this week Google gave us a sneak peek at their upcoming Google Glass Development Kit (GDK), a set of tools developers will use to hit the ground running with Glassware ( Google Glass apps). While the GDK still isn't ready for prime time, Google Developers did announce via their G+ page that the Glass Mirror API has finally been opened to all. The Mirror API — while not as full featured as the GDK — utilizes cloud APIs to build web apps for Glass, not apps that run natively on the hardware. These are the type of apps we've seen “running” on Glass at the moment.

The Retina iPad mini is no doubt one of Apple's more popular iPads, especially given that its crams a rather high resolution into a smaller display, giving it a pretty high pixel density that results in sharper images. Last we heard the tablet was facing backorders and was reportedly also facing supply constraints, apparently due to issues with the display. Whatever the case is, customers were not allowed to just walk into an Apple store to purchase the device, unless they had pre-ordered it online first.

More Developers Planning On Developing For Windows Phone In 2014

When it comes to app availability or variety, safe to say that iOS and Android are taking the top two spots, with both platforms numbering apps close to a million by now. Windows Phone is pretty far behind at over a hundred thousand, although if Joe Belfiore's promise is anything to go by, we can expect that gap to close by the end of 2014. While the executive's promise is one thing, it's really up to developers to decide if the Windows Phone platform is worth developing for, and the good news is that it looks like more developers are hopping on board come 2014.

The coupe could easily pass for a top-effort from an Italian design house (not surprising, as Okuyama boasts a stint as director of design for Pininfarina on his resume), but the characterful face and central tailfin feel very Japanese, if not a bit Speed Racer.
Functionally, the Kode9 seems more than able to back up its wild good looks.
