Plane crash at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan caught on dash cam

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World out there, folks. As if you needed further evidence to support the claim, the video posted above is sure to reinforce the notion that the recently ubiquitous dash cam craze in other parts of the world seemingly captures every moment of life. And, as we've seen in the past, life can be scary at times. A Boeing 747 operated by National Airlines crashed immediately after takeoff from Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan yesterday, claiming the lives of all seven crewmembers on board, each of them a US citizen.

Melting Machine Gives Out Free 7Ups

There is nothing quite like a slick marketing campaign to sell ice to the Eskimos, or sand to a nomad, if you want to pull in some tried and tested proverbs. Well, when summer arrives for those living in countries that have the four seasons taking their respective turns throughout the course of the year, it is always refreshing to get an ice cold drink to keep you nice and cool, away from the sweltering heat. The Melting Machine that you see above is part of a new guerrilla marketing technique which has been specially set up in Buenos Aires by 7Up.

Synrgic Uno Announced

Synrgic Uno Announced

HTC of Taiwan has some pretty "numero uno" sounding names for a couple of their devices, where right now the hottest property would be the HTC One (with its microphone-gate saga) and the HTC First, which was released earlier. Well, the thriving city-state that is known as Singapore, one of the roaring economies in South East Asia, has come up with a somewhat similar slant when it comes to the smartphone's naming convention. I am referring to the Synrgic Uno, and for most of us, we would not be able to relate to what the Synrgic Uno is all about, considering the rather obscure name in the first place.

T-mobile's original April 24th release date for the Samsung Galaxy S4 might not have happened, but folks would only have to wait five days to order one online. Japanese Company Creates Grassy iPhone Cases Based On Famous Parks

We've seen all sorts of iPhone cases in the past, ranging from the functional to the outright novelty, and if you're in the market for the latter than Japanese company Ag Ltd might have something for you. The company is currently designing limited edition iPhone cases, which as you can see in the photo above, resemble grass turfs. These are probably not the first grass-like iPhone case you've seen before, but here's the kicker. Apparently what Ag Ltd are trying to do is model each iPhone case they release after famous parks in the world, attempting to recreate the grass texture and look through the use of electrostatic flocking.

Next Xbox Games Will Reportedly Only Require Internet Connection If Publisher Decides

Despite the fact that Microsoft has already announced its plans for revealing next generation Xbox on May 21st, the rumors keep on coming in. According to a latest report which address the controversial issue of the next Xbox supposedly needing an always-on internet connection for playing games, it is up to publishers to decide whether or not their games require such internet connection. Microsoft will reportedly not be imposing any restriction of this sort. Publishers and only publishers will decide.

US Ambassador Hopes Australians Will Stop Game Of Thrones Piracy

Game of Thrones was crowned as the most illegally downloaded show in 2012. Earlier this month when its Season 3 premiere aired, it was downloaded over a million times in one day, breaking the previous record for the largest BitTorrent swarm ever. The premiere was illegally downloaded the most in Australia. Game of Thrones airs on HBO and the network's programming president, Micheal Lombardo, doesn't mind all this piracy. Actually, he thinks that the blatant Game of Thrones piracy is akin to a compliment.

Review: HTC One Poetic Borderline bumper case [VIDEO]

Ever since my HTC One Developer Edition arrived last week, I've been trying to find a nice case, for little money. For whatever reason, it seemed like every case manufacturer had their cases on back-order, with most cases not being available until sometime after April 28th (or at least, that's what most of their sites were showing). Frustrated, I went for the cheapest case I could find on Amazon, one that would ship to my house in the shortest amount of time possible (lest my One suffer the same fate as my Nexus 4). Enter the Poetic Borderline bumper case for the HTC One.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*

After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible – pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications.

US Judge Rules That Motorola's Patents Aren't Worth $4 Billion, But Around $1.8 Million Instead

Earlier this year we reported that Motorola's complaint against Microsoft for alleged patent infringement could see Motorola demanding up to $4 billion in royalties from Microsoft which we can all agree upon is no small amount. Unfortunately for Motorola, it looks like even if they were to win the legal battle against Microsoft, they might not be able to get $4 billion as the judge presiding over the legal battle has determined that the value of Motorola's patents were extremely overvalued and that they are in reality worth about $1.8 million in royalties every year.

Electronic Arts is still a juggernaut of a game publisher, but this does not mean that they would always be on an upward spiral of growth. Take Apple for instance – their stock is not doing too hot in the market at this point in time, and you won't find talk of Apple stock hitting $1,000 anytime soon, considering how its next milestone to hit would be half that amount if possible.

Samsung ATIV Brand Expands With ATIV Book 5 And ATIV Book 6

Love is in the air, at least on Valentine's Day this year when we tried very hard to kindle a relationship with the Samsung ATIV S, a Windows Phone 8-powered smartphone. The thing is, that was a smartphone, and it seems that Samsung has far greater plans for the ATIV brand name other than to sell Windows Phone 8 devices. The day has come then, as Samsung has announced that they will expand the ATIV brand to include its entire range of Windows-powered PCs.

Watch this two-story tall bike negotiate LA traffic

Watch this two-story tall bike negotiate LA traffic

Last weekend, Los Angeles' Venice Boulevard was shut down from the beach nearly to downtown for Ciclavia, an event in which cyclists take over one of the city's primary east-west arteries. One of the riders that day was Richie Trimble, who was pedaling from 14.5 feet in the air on a homemade bicycle dubbed Stoopid Tall. Essentially a Huffy atop some scaffolding, once Trimble took off riding, there was no stopping him, literally, since Stoopid Tall has no brakes (it's too tall to stick a leg out to balance at stops anyhow). As with an oversized load being hauled through the city, Trimble had helpers blocking traffic.

Fourteen people died, ten of them the firefighters and first responders who were there to put out the fire and get people to safety, 200 people were injured and entire blocks of the town were destroyed.

2013 SRT Viper spends its days living life a quarter mile at a time

There are lots of ways to measure the performance of a car, but there's only one that is quintessentially American: the quarter mile. And while we've already seen a proper comparison test or two that puts the new (and also quintessentially American) SRT Viper on a racetrack, we've yet to see what it can do when put in the hands of a proper drag racer for an entire day of tire-burning performance testing. Now we do. And so the $64,000 question is, How does it perform? Pretty well indeed, recording a best time of 11.1 seconds at 127.4 miles per hour, wearing street-legal drag radials with the boys from Drag Times behind the wheel.

[REVIEW] QNAP TS-469L 4-bay NAS

Introduction. It had been a while since we last received a QNAP product to be reviewed. As it happens, last week the gods favored us and brought in one of QNAP's recent additions in their 4-bay SOHO/SMB NAS segment: The TS-469L.
The TS-469L puts itself between its little sister, the TS-419P II and bigger brother, the TS-469 Pro. What sets it apart from "little sister" TS-419P II is the fact that the TS469L has about double the capacity in memory (and is expandable), has a much more potent CPU and comes with the VGA/HDMI outputs allowing for the brand now HD Station features.

Ford posts decade-best $2.1B profit in Q1 2013

As predicted, Ford has reported that its first quarter of 2013 was a resounding success overall, with a pretax profit of $2.1 billion ($0.41 per share), and a net income of $1.6 billion ($0.40 per share). In fact, Ford made a pretax profit of some $2.4 billion in its home North American market, with that total number being pulled down by losses in South America and Europe. That gaudy North American profit is the strongest result by the automaker since 2000. Ford's companywide profit for Q1 was down $147 million from one year ago, while the net income number marked an increase of $215 million year over year.

HTC gets a patent for a dual-screen phone

Chances are this is a concept that HTC fans will never see come to life, but never-the-less our favorite mobile manufacturer submitted the paperwork for a patent involving a dual-screen designed, slider smartphone. Do you remember the dual-screen phone from a company called Kyocera. The phone seemed to draw a lot of attention, but it soon lost it's steam and from what we have seen, support fell off course as well. The design for this patent looks a little dated in our opinion.

iDreamCase for iPad 2x3x4 review

Like it or not, iPads have become ubiquitous. We see them everywhere, in food courts in the hands of toddlers, in schools, as cash registers in coffee shops and restaurants, and in that last bastion of low tech, the business boardroom. I read the other day that somewhere north of 90% of all Fortune 500 businesses were deploying or have deployed iPads. In formal business settings, that bright flowery case or that ruggedized military spec case is going to be quite out of place. For this reason, the folks at iDreamcase have recently added the iDreamcase for iPad 2x3x4 to their line of protective cases.

GM China President says automaker could export vehicles from China to US

At a press conference on Saturday at the Shanghai Motor Show, General Motors announced plans to further expand its presence in the Chinese market. Among those commitments are plans to build four new plants by the end of 2015, giving the automaker the capacity to produce around five million vehicles a year in the country. In order to make the most of that expansion, GM is adding 400 dealerships in China this year alone (for a total of 4,200 sales points), and it's eyeing 5,100 dealers by 2015. Yet not all of that production will stay in China – GM is planning to increase exports as well.

Apparently, HTC BoomSound won't be an HTC One exclusive for long. To be honest, we're not surprised to see HTC working on new devices with front-facing stereo speakers.
