China Sends It First Rover To The Moon This December

China's state media reports today that the country will send its first ever rover to the moon this December. The government had said a number of times in the past that the launch will take place at the end of this year, as of now the launch appears to be on track. Called the Chang'e-3, it is said that planning and construction of the rover has already been completed and the mission has entered into “launch implementation phase.” This will be China's first ever unmanned probe landing on the moon. It has previously launched the Chang'e-1 and Chang'e-2 unmanned probes into the orbit around the moon.

Some of you guys might have heard a while back that the website, The Onion, was hacked by a group calling themselves the Syrian Electronic Army. Now it looks like the group is back again, and this time they are claiming that they have taken over Twitter's domain registration. For now it appears to be true as a Whois lookup on Twitter's domain name reveals evidence pointing at the Syrian Electronic Army. This includes the admin's name which reads "SEA SEA", and the admin's email which points towards "sea@sea.sy".

Oppo N1 Launches On September 23rd

A few weeks ago we picked up on rumors that Oppo, a mobile phone manufacturer based in China, was launching a new “N-lens” smartphone that would give the likes of HTC One and Lumia 1020 a run for their money. It was rumored that this Oppo smartphone would challenge the camera quality of both of these devices. We've come to know since then that this smartphone is going to be called Oppo N1 and that it will be released next month. Today Oppo has confirmed that the N1 launch takes place on September 23rd.

It was just yesterday that we caught images of the Sony NEX-5T, an upcoming camera from Sony that will be part of its NEX lineup of mirrorless cameras, and supposedly will be an upgrade over the NEX-5R. Well just in case yesterday's photos were clear enough, new images have surfaced which are allegedly that of the NEX-5T and they appear to be the press shots of the upcoming camera. As you can see in the image above, at least upon first glance, it does not appear to be too different from the NEX-5R which is what previous rumors have been claiming.

The Alcatel One Touch Idol X was announced in February as TCL's flagship smartphone for places other than China (where the company sells phones under its own brand). Yet TCL already has a successor for this device in the works, it seems. Because Google has been dragging their feet on whitelisting the app, the ClockworkMod dev decided to work around the Chromecast SDK entirely.

Once again we're dealing with the question of when Apple will actually release its two new iPhones that it's expected to unveil at an event on September 10. The word one week ago was that October 25 was going to be the date. But that seemed incredibly un-Apple-like, letting a month and a half pass in between announcement and availability.
