. The eventual arrival of iMessage on OS X, in some form, is almost a foregone conclusion at this point, but a new report claims to confirm that Apple is indeed working on bringing it to the Mac platform alongside AirPlay Mirroring. Citing multiple anonymous sources, 9to5 Mac says Apple is already hard at work bringing the services to OS X, though it is apparently unclear whether or not the efforts will bear fruit.

LG Optimus 2X, Black, and 3D Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates finally coming in November

LG Optimus 2X, Black, and 3D Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates finally coming in November

After many, many months of waiting and collective head-scratching by owners of LG's newest and highest-specced smartphones, the update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread is almost here. It's unclear what took LG so long, or why these models launched not running it, but let's just enjoy the moment for now. The Korean company took to Facebook to announce that the Gingerbread updates for the Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, and Optimus 3D will all become available in November. There are caveats, though. The updates will roll out in Europe first, and to devices sold unlocked and without carrier branding.

Boston Dynamics' PETMAN is a BigDog on two legs

Boston Dynamics' PETMAN is a BigDog on two legs

Remember the BigDog robot from Boston Dynamics that is still something to look at even today. Well, it seems that the company have managed to cobble together a two legged version of the BigDog, calling it PETMAN – short for Protection Ensemble Test Mannequin. Taking a good 13 months to design it as well as 17 months to build, this man-sized robot is capable of moving around just like a human being in a creepy manner, retaining its balance even when pushed. What is the purpose of the PETMAN. Well, it is meant to test clothing which will in turn be used by our men on the battlefield.

Hugo Boss edition of the Samsung Galaxy Ace for the brand conscious

So we know that LG from time to time works with luxury fashion brand Prada for their phones, but now it looks like Samsung wants to get in on the luxury brand bandwagon as well with the Samsung Galaxy Ace Hugo Boss version. In terms of design, the handset has been revised slightly to give off a more luxurious feel, and as you can see, it also sports the Hugo Boss branding at the top and will come loaded with multimedia content from Hugo Boss. However that's pretty much where the differences between the regular Galaxy Ace and Hugo Boss edition ends.

PSA: Stray dogs on F1 tracks 'not acceptable'

When an animal makes its way onto a freeway, the result could be a significant accident with the real possibility for casualties. But while your local Interstate could see speeds of 80 miles per hour, it's nothing like Formula 1. During testing at the Indian Grand Prix, a dog with a death wish made its way onto the track. Luckily, the dog was unharmed, and a potentially serious accident was avoided. The incident comes three years after driver Bruno Senna actually hit a dog during a GP2 race in Turkey.

Nokia Lumia passes through FCC with T-Mobile's radios

Those in the US who have been eagerly anticipating Nokia's Windows Phones were probably a bit disappointed when they found out that Nokia would not be launching in the US first, but instead will launch their series of Windows Phone devices state side in 2012, with Europe and some parts of Asia getting the devices first by the end of 2011. While there has to be an official announcement for the Nokia Lumia 710 for the US market, an FCC filing has been discovered for the Lumia 710 and it appears to be sporting T-Mobile's 3G/4G 1700Mhz bands, which does not rule out the possibility that the carrier could be bringing in the device in the future.

Windows 8 desktop interface kills Aero for Metro, gets with the times

Microsoft's Windows 8 developer preview greeted us with an interface steeped in Redmond's new Metro style - its tile-centric start screen is sleek, fresh, and downright pretty. Imagine our surprise then, when the preview's desktop view punted us straight back to the contemporary "Aero" dressing of Windows 7. It's not an ugly interface by any means, but shiny, translucent window frames are so last generation. Where's the style. In the big M's latest Building Windows 8 preview, of course. The MSDN blog's latest Task Manager update shows the familiar feature in a brand-new Metro suit: flat, clean, and Aero free.

Well, it looks like the company's decision isn't final yet because they got in touch with the folks over at Android and Me to let them know that Ice Cream Sandwich is still being tested on those phones. While the K-Bow may look similar to a normal bow, it's actually a real-time controller that will allow you to manipulate the sounds coming out of the stringed instrument for which the bow is being used. The bow has sensors for grip, bow tension, force, angle, and more. The sensor data is used with the included software to translate to MIDI or for live looping, reverb, etc.

The current agreement will terminate at the end of 2012. Allegedly, the deal is not final and could still fall through. If it is finalized, Sprint is poised to pay less for access to Clearwire's network than it currently does. Clearwire has been seeking additional funding to help it build out a 4G LTE network, which is expected to cost $600 million, but Sprint will not provide any of the financing.

Gamer dad attacks teen after CoD Black Ops heckling

One man lost his cool and actually assaulted a teen living up the street over words exchanged in Call of Duty: Black Ops. When playing deathmatch or other multiplayer options online with other gamers, heckling comes with the territory, even more so for newbies still trying to figure out the benefits of certain weapons or the layout of a map. Sometimes it's just not possible to not get offended by some of the more insulting remarks without some kind of retaliation. For one father of three, he took his revenge just a little too far.

Russian tuner squeezes 1,000 horsepower into a Fiat Coupe

You may remember a fun little hatchback called the Fiat Panda 100HP. All it took was a hundred horsepower to turn a ho-hum supermini into what European editors knew and loved as one of their favorite driving machines. That was a little overshadowed by the Fiat 500 that offers the same powertrain, if not all the same fun, but the Panda put things into perspective. Especially considering now how one tuner has taken an earlier Fiat Coupe and squeezed a whopping 1,000 horsepower out of it.

Samsung Could Use big.LITTLE Processing in Future Exynos Updates

While most multi-core processors group together sets of identical cores to provide enhanced computing power (a model that has worked fine for PCs), ARM has developed a new approach dubbed big.LITTLE processing. With mobile devices and power savings in mind, the concept pairs up the high-performance of the Cortex-A15 core with the power saving Cortex-A7. The result is a chip that can switch between the two depending on system needs. This very concept may find its way into Samsung’s next update to their Exynos CPU.
