Photos of purported iPad 3 part suggests tweaked internals

. Photos of a part that is allegedly an iPad 3 component suggest that the tablet will continue to use Apple's 30-pin connector, as opposed to microUSB or another popular industry-wide standard port. Images of the piece were published by Macotakara, which spotted them on TVC-Mall.com, a website belonging to an Apple parts reseller. Apple has included the 30-pin connector on the iPad, iPod and iPhone since the iPod first made its debut.

Battle Squadron ONE – World's First Split-screen Shooter Coming To Android In Early 2012

It was only a few weeks ago that Cope-Com brought the world's first splite-screen co-op shooter, Battle Squadron ONE to iOS devices and they're looking to repeat the magic, this time, on Android. Now, if you know me — I love shooters — new school 3D, HD, 16-bit graphics — whatever. Something about these games has captivated my since my youth. Battle Squadron ONE falls more into the 16-bit nostalgia category which is just fine by me.

Intel's new enterprise variations include the Sandy Bridge-EN and Sandy Bridge-EP. The Sandy Bridge-EN is designed for high-density, low-power servers, while the Sandy Bridge-EP is designed for high-performance servers and workstations.

Motorola DROID 4 render shows up on Best Buy website

In the past we've had unreleased phones being used as promotional material due to the carelessness of designers or folks not receiving the memo that a phone was delayed, and well it looks like it's happened again - this time with the Motorola DROID 4. Earlier today, on Best Buy, there was a render of the upcoming Android phone being shown on its Reward Zone (the picture has now been replaced) for its “5000 Bonus Points” image. Normally this doesn't mean a thing, but since the phone has yet to be officially announced, we believe that it might have been slated for a release this month but was given a last minute delay.

Apple Applies For “Face Unlock” Patent – Sounds Awfully Familiar

I don't want to anyone to dismiss this post as simple Apple bashing troll post but this is getting a bit ridiculous. Apple has recently applied to the USPTO for yet another patent on a technology not only currently in use today — but a main feature in Android 4.0; Face Unlock. Apple's application describes the patent as a brand new technology that allows a user to unlock a device by using the features of their face. It's not so much that I hate Apple and there's no question Android is their single largest competitor (something the late Steve Jobs was hellbent on destroying).

Mercedes A-Class caught out in the cold

Mercedes-Benz is busily pushing development of the company's new A-Class hatchback, and our spy photographers have managed to click a few photos of two vehicles out for a little winter testing. The small five-door is reportedly headed to the U.S. market once it receives an official unveil, though there's no telling whether or not the AMG version we spied back in August will make the journey across The Pond as well. These new shots show off a vehicle that's ditched much of is camo cladding.

We have a sizable soft spot for the KTM Duke 125. The small-displacement machine is perfect for back-road flinging and in-town commuting. Unfortunately, KTM has decided the wide-open spaces of America aren't fit for the lightweight street machine. That leaves us longingly watching YouTube videos of the Duke 125 in action. KTM has just released a new clip featuring stunt rider Rok Bagoroš at work on the single-cylinder bike.

Airtight brings AirPlay to Google TV

If you own a bunch of iOS devices and wished that your Google TV could support iOS AirPlay so that you can stream content from your devices to your TV - you're in luck. A developer named Yossie has come up with a solution called Airtight. All you have to do is install the app onto your Google TV, hook it up to your iOS device, and you can start streaming content wirelessly over to the set top box. It's that simple to use.
Unfortunately at the moment there is no support for mirroring, DRM-protected movies and music, but for everything else it should work.

Samsung Galaxy S III Will Have 3D Functionality – To Be Unveiled At MWC 2012 [Rumor]

Alright, so we know Fridays’ “leaked” renders of the Samsung Galaxy S III turned out to be nothing more than fan-created concept art but now we’re hearing rumblings around the net that Samsung could be planning to introduce the device at MWC 2012. Okay, so that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given Samsung’s yearly refreshes, but the kicker is that a Korean website is reporting not only will the GSIII be unveiled but that Samsung may incorporate 3D into the device. This would help give Samsung a leg up on the iPhone and also complete their 3D ecosystem adding functionality with their 3D televisions.

Hacker Finds Major Security Flaw In GSM Networks – All Phones Vulnerable

A vulnerability was discovered in GSM networks — the same type of network T-Mobile and AT&T operate on — that could allow for a hacker or an otherwise nefarious character, to gain full remote control of any smartphone running on those types of networks (Sprint and Verizon are in the clear). The security flaw was revealed during a hacking convention in Berlin where the head of Germany's Security Research Labs, a Mr. Karsten Nohl, said that the attacks could easily be carried out on a large scale as well. "We can do it to hundreds of thousands of phones in a short timeframe. None of the networks protects users very well.

IMEC working with holograms, mirrored pixels to prevent 3D movie headaches

Let's face it, 3D movies are amazing but there are times when you'll walk away with a killer headache. A group of researchers at IMEC believes that holographic video might be the best way around this problem and has been working on a means of constructing holographic displays by shining lasers on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) platforms capable of moving up and down like small, reflective pistons. Here's the cool part: each pixel would have a spring-like mechanism attached to it that could be moved by applying voltage to it.

Last year at CES, OnStar wasn't too shy about teasing its partnership with Verizon that would assist in bringing applications like YouTube, Wikipedia and Skype to your vehicle. At that point, though, it was just an idea. Fast forward to next year's iteration of the Consumer Electronics Show and that's turned into a reality. It's safe to say that Skyping-and-driving wouldn't be the best of ideas, but fortunately the system will keep you from making that mistake by only running when your car is immobile - so don't make any plans to call your friends to tell them how fast you're going.
