Volume And Noise Invention Reads Out Tweets

Volume And Noise Invention Reads Out Tweets

I have yet to lose the amazement at reading some of the tweets that folks, er, tweet about, and the most recent faux pas that I read came from the United Nations themselves in the form of a typo, touching on the sensitivities of a 1-state solution in the Middle East concerning Israel and Palestine, before an apology was issued. Well, the Volume And Noise is a creation by artist Sean Hathaway as part of a social-media-themed project, where it will bring Twitter and one of the oldest forms of communication together.

McLaren P1 prototype seen testing on public roads

Spy photographers have grabbed a few shots of the McLaren P1 out for a little testing on public streets. Much of the coupe's heavy camouflage has been discarded in favor of a trippy vinyl wrap, revealing the production version to be nearly identical to the concept McLaren unveiled at this year's Paris Motor Show. The company's new ultracar is designed to be somewhat smaller and more delicate compared to other bruisers in the segment, and McLaren has made it clear the machine will bow with the least frontal area of any new supercar on the planet.

170-Foot Trampoline Reinvents Modern-Day Commuting

Imagine walking on a road that's made up of a trampoline. All you'll have to do is to jump up and down until you arrive at your desired destination. That might sound absurd and a little hard to implement, but design firm Salto is doing it anyway. Designers Maarja Kask, Karli Luik, and Ralf Lõoke unveiled a 170-foot or 51 meter trampoline called “Fast track” at the 2012 Archstoyanie festival in Nikola-Lenivets, Russia.

2014 Acura RLX replaces SH-AWD with P-AWS

After teasing us with the thinly veiled concept earlier this year, Acura has officially taken the wraps off its all-new flagship sedan, the 2014 Acura RLX. Aside from its huge step forward in terms of styling and luxury, the new RLX could very well be the most advanced Acura model ever. While the previous RL could have been one of the blandest luxury sedans of its time, the RLX builds on stylish cues introduced this year on the ILX and RDX. One of the car's signature elements is its jewel-eyed LED headlights that could end up rivaling Audi for the most distinctive in the business.

With the number of people owning smartphones as well as ordinary mobile phones, we do wonder whether there is a need for pay phones – especially in large cities like New York. This has led to a plan that will see the transformation of a quarter of a thousand of New York's city phone booths into a device that will be more at ease in the 21st century – as a touchscreen information hub. This idea will continue where the successful pilot left off, being an initiative that the city of New York, Cisco and City 24x7 have come together for.

VW recalls 2012-2013 Beetle models with leather seats over airbags

Volkswagen is recalling 2,471 Beetle models over faulty occupant control modules in the front passenger seat. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, if the seat in certain 2012 and 2013 model year vehicles gets wet, the module may malfunction and may not detect the presence of a child restraint. If that happens, the airbag will not shut off and will deploy in the event of a collision. Such a scenario could greatly increase the risk of serious child injury.
As a remedy, Volkswagen technicians will replace the control modules free of charge.
