. Intel (INTC) has big plans for Microsoft's (MSFT) upcoming Windows 8 operating system, according to Netbook News. The chipmaker and its partners are planning to release at leash 40 ultrabooks with touchscreen displays as early as the fourth quarter of 2012. The problem with the current-generation of ultrabooks is the hefty price tags associated with the ultra-slim computers. This will not be the case moving forward, however.

Stateside and overseas iOS users with a predilection for remotely controlling high-end German autos have had nearly a half year's worth of smug to lord over their Android counterparts. Not so anymore, as BMW's spreading the love and making its Remote app available now for that Google-led contingent on the Play store. The car maker hasn't updated this iteration with any additional perks, preferring instead to keep the user experience consistent and giving drivers of BMW Assist-enabled vehicles the same ability to remotely lock doors, adjust the A/C, blow the horn or trigger the car's lights from afar.

Samsung is still working hard on an 11-inch tablet. This has been revealed through documents that the Korean company has shared with the court in the lawsuit in which it's being accused by Apple of patent infringement in California. The first time we heard about such a gigantic device was in December of last year, when rumor had it that the new tablet would be unveiled during MWC in February. That didn't happen, but, we now learn, not because Samsung cancelled the project. It just got pushed back by a few months.

. DLC map packs are one of the reasons that Call of Duty fans continue to play the games, it keeps the experience fresh with new maps and gameplay modes. Today, some images of the next DLC map pack release have been leaked online. Some gameplay was also uploaded, but it was quickly taken down by YouTube. The names of the three maps are Boardwalk, Gulch, and Parish.

Owners and stakeholders of Big Media have thick skins. So the persistent trending of #NBCFail, and the riotous reading that the tweet stream provides, is probably bouncing right off their leathery hides. For one thing, the complaints were surely foreseen. They are largely the same criticisms NBC withstood in previous Olympics - over-curating, ill-placed commercials, tape delays, scandalously inane commentary, and a generally inferior Olympics presentation compared to other countries. The unspoken shrugging answer, of course, is financial.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note will be out on August 8 for $249.99

Interestingly enough, it looks like one rumored release date for T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Note was true after all. The magenta carrier just announced that the phone / tablet hybrid device (let's just call it a phablet) will become available on August 8. It's not cheap, though. You'll need to pony up no less than $249.99 for the privilege of getting a phablet that will only be ‘current' for a couple of months tops – since its successor, the Galaxy Note 2, is expected to be unveiled next month. Furthermore, that price is after a $50 mail-in rebate.

Of course, TMo also has the ‘value' plans.

Twitter has been making a giant push for expanded tweets from content providers. It's only a short logical leap from that to Twitter providing the content itself, and that's exactly what AdWeek claims may well happen. Its unconfirmed tipsters have the microblog taking a page from YouTube by pitching Hollywood movie and TV studios on "several" original shows that would live in followers' feeds, including the seemingly inescapable reality show. While Twitter wouldn't have someone in the director's chair, it might still play a role by letting viewers affect the show as it's happening - and of course, running ads.

If SammyHub's blurrycam tipster is to believed, Samsung will soon be swelling its Duos line of dual-sim handsets with the (purported) GT-S732 you see before you. Presumably, the feature phone will sit at the floor of any pricing table since it's packing a meager 2-megapixel camera, 2.4-inch display and a 1,000mAh battery. Notably the handset includes a WiFi radio, which puts us in mind of a messaging-centric handset - which explains the presence of a dedicated ChatON button beneath the screen.
